RETURNING TO YOUTUBE

Youtube is a wonderful platform but it’s also a platform that can become your worst enemy. I fell in love with creating videos almost 10 years ago, inspired by Philip Defranco & Casey Neistat (Pre global domination!) and all i wanted to do was become a youtuber! I felt like it was a space I could belong & flourish in, and I like to think I did! Back in the day before chasing money, as it wasnt even a thing when i started! & Just making for the pure sake of enjoyment, what a time that was, I loved it!

A SKATE/BIKE Video I filmed with my old mate Sam Pilgrim

We filmed every single thing we did on my Civic EG6, the growth of my brand, all before anyone else really had considered it & we did it for, well basically nothing, the only money I made was from stickers & t shirt sales at the time and even then it wasn’t even really on my radar, I was just having so so much fun!

one of the more silly but super fun videos from back in the day!

But overtime, I did the generic thing where I fell into the trap, after a few videos going viral, series getting 20K+ views a video it made me want more, I really got the bug but not for creating but for growth, which can be healthy! But when you start comparing every single video to your peers, and really taking it out on yourself if a video does badly, I really, really fell off the horse once it all got too much after lockdown. Youtube took away the dislike feature, which was whatever, but on the backend of the site you still get it very much shoved in your face, in big red writing saying a video is the worst performing and “let youtube tell you why!” Which is basically, it didnt do well so we’re not pushing it and you should go die, thats basically what they say.

Covered in dog hairs as always, cheers finn!.

where all the memories are currently stored.

But, I’ve been filming recently with zero editing, I’ve just put the footage onto a hard drive whilst I sit at work focusing on surviving the next financial catastrophe the wonderful world leaders are setting us up for. But also I’ve been building plans for a big 6two1 comeback for next year too. But I decided to start early, this was all planned for 2023! But I couldn’t wait any longer!

Stunning E92 M3 at a recent track day

I think the break was huge for me, It enabled me to fall back in love with the car scene & community. It allowed me to go do other things outside of youtube. I now no longer even see some of the bigger names on youtube who I just think are undeserving of their success by lying & bullying their way to the top. I feel like Im back where I belong mentally, which is a creative with freedom! (to an extent, i still have 2 other jobs, but they are good for me too), I’ve been back building cars, going on track days, going for drives, car shows & meets and going on this amazing Drift Masters journey!

It is time I explain everything to you in video from.

Thanks for reading, & Hopefully watching.
It feels great to be back.
