Tuner Evo - THE SET UP

I went on a trip to Florida with a few close friends, while we were away, we found this Tuner Evo meet, being hosted 20 minutes from where we were staying.

Something I always find so cool about car meets in America, is there is normally one car, that I have no idea what it is, that is just exceptionally done. The one that caught my eye at this event was this …thing ? i think its a Genesis, basically a fancy Hyundai from what I understand, or, understood at the time. But the level of customisation on this build was incredible, from the custom carbon bonnet, wide body kit, engraved split wheels & an incredible interior & boot build, feast your eyes on this..

Although, as a foreigner i had thought the meet would be a touch bigger, or busier, I wasn’t disappointed with what was out on show. What I was suprised at, was how many import cars were there. Im not sure why I’m still surprised by this knowing how much the American tuner industry has been patiently waiting for these cars to hit that sweet 25 year rule, although, Florida has always seemingly been the most relaxed on it. There was some lovely stuff on display

But here I go showing my age, surrounded by all these amazing sports cars, from Germany to Japan, it was this Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series sat on Volk TE37s was all I could look at. I think I spent the most time gawking over this & honestly if I had unlimited money for a build, Id be taking on one of these.

But, I cannot escape the one badge that captured me over my last 10 years & has sent me down rabbit holes the younger JDM Fanboy in me would ever have thought would happen. The BMW M3 is probably my favourite model of car ever, from the E30 through out the the whole catalog Bmw has produced, I just absolutely adore them & Once again the American’s do not disapoint with how they have built some of theres that were on show.

But here we get to the main reason I made sure we came to this meet, it was to see my old friend Efren, or Popeye as hes known around these parts who we did a feature years ago on his DB8 Integra Type R ! I wanted to pop down here because he was with the amazing Catalina’s Coffee Bar. I told him make me whatever you’d have, the speciality ! What a treat this was. The best thing about being around cars & the community so long truly is the people you meet.

I had a great few hours at the Tuner Evo meet & would love to attend more in the future. I also hope to get over to Florida soon to do a few features on some cars, which ones did you like the most from the post? Let me know over on Instagram @6two1
