Taking a little break from the LA coverage as I'm awaiting a few email's about some bits before I can do the write ups and finish up before I can show you that stuff.
But, I still have a few things to show you from Holland, this being one of them & A couple of London things too. So, this entry is of my dutch friend Arnold's Time Attack EK. I have gotten most of the information from another of the dutch Honda guys called Elio, he was good enough to do me a speclist & a bit of background of the car, so I've tried to do a little background story of the car & how it has came to be.....
Arnold's EK3 arrived with him as a 1.5 completely standard silver EK3 Civic, which he purchased from a dealer in 2006. Already having some simply parts for the car he whilst he was searching for the right one.
For 3 year's, the car was almost purely a show car. Attending shows with the ILOVEMYEK Crew, meets & just using as a daily cruiser. At the start of 2011, Arnold decided to turn his love for racing into a hobby of his own & started to change the direction of his car.
The car went from 1.5non Vtec to having a full B18c from a JDM ITR engine conversion, along with J's racing 60rs catback exhaust with a custom B pipe to keep the noise regulations in line with track & competition rules.
The Civic was stripped of everything, even its windows before being sent to Biesheuvel Motorsports who a specialised in FIA approved custom rollcage's. Arnold wanted his cage to have the X Cross in the rear.
Once the car was back in his possession, Lexan lightweight windows were purchased & fitted to the car. The pictures shown have his race day wheels on with TOYO R888's. Arnold also has a set of 16 inch Compomotive wheels which I dont have pictured from this year..
Whilst I was over, Arnold managed to win his class in the Toyo Time Attack. We got the pictures the day before the event, at a very wet & windy Zandvoort track... This wont be the last time I post about Arnold's EK & I'm sorry that this is a fairly vague write up but below is the full spec list of the car...
