Anyone and everyone involved in a car scene know's how it goes, we build a car, from our own idea's drempt up over a few drinks, from ideas stolen from other people on the internet, from lessons passed down over the years of the people that were modifying before any of us could even drive. With all that in mind, theres obviously going to be a clash of opinion's in nearly, ever single case. But once in a while, there is a car, that comes along, which silence's the Haterz. Which can bring peoples opinions together and absoultly kill it.
James, known to many as TEGBOY managed to do this, one of the few people that i have personally met who can say, he has built a near perfect car.
After wrecking his UKDM DC2 a few years back, he picked up the shell of a EK9, and quickly decided its fate, after 2 years of building up a Unit (9) him and a few of his mates were renting, he built a masterpiece.
I was fortunate enough to meet teggus as I call him and have done since I met him, in early 2008 when i joined a car club he was part of, mutually, I got on great with him straight away, 2 keen honda enthusiast's was a great change from the norm, he took me up to see his car being built, and im one of the lucky ones to see it from quite early stages.
i got to go up and see him a few more times, probably begging him to work on my car for burger kings haha, but got to see it through the stages, which was great for me, as i knew nothing before meeting him about how cars worked, now i know, a tiny bit.
when i get a text saying "its going to be ready for the weekend, its mot'd" or something along those lines, i got a weeeee bit excited, as it was going to be ready for one of the big show's of the season. Modded nats, now as a car club- Street legal, having our cars looking top is a must, and now with Tegboys 9 apart of the set up, we looked as good as we could line up wise!!
At its debuting show, it got a huge reception, considering the variety of people there normally like ott body kits and neon's it showed me how big the impact was, for a subtle, yet a car set to make such a huge impact in the "scene".
i crashed at his over the weekend of JTS 09 Which the car once again went down a storm:
and recently, i poped up to see him again as it had been a few months, and i left my bloody Honda tuning magazines with him by accident haha but gota few pics of how its resting for the winter::
Thank you for reading! hope you enjoyed it.
