Artisan GT-R, is this the ultimate GTR

36 To be made. £369,000 the cost.

Artisan, a design house are creating their ideal vision of the GTR. With the R35 finally coming to an end, first launched in 2007, and Nissan possibly moving the R36 GTR To being an all electric humming machine, could this be the final instalment of the GTR that fans have dreamed of?

So what do we know so far?

The car will, mechanically stay with the 3.8 V6 found in the R35, but will be fully rebuild & tuned by a specialist tuning house, that I cannot find who yet online - My guess would be HKS or something similar but we will have to wait and see. Offering 2 different power options.

- Track Edition which gives you a mild 800bhp
- Ultimate Edition which gives you 1000bhp, I wonder if you get suction cups to get your eyes out of the back of your skull included with this?

The car isn't just going to be a coachworks body shell with a tuned engine, they are also planning on upgrading the brakes, suspension & Tyres.

TE37s fitted on the concept render… Perfect fit.

I can't see anywhere they have done the exhaust but if they've gone this far, I Imagine this thing is going to be having those big old pipes done too.

Maybe because I fell in love with Skylines from a young age, loving the R32 / 34 the most. In time my taste has changed to enjoy a good R33 too, but the styling of this thing is absolutely gorgeous to me. The lead designer spoke to top gear magazine :

"I feel like when the R35 came out, it somehow strayed away from the design of the previous generation Skyline GT-Rs," lead designer Roman Miah tells TG. "I understand that Nissan may have wanted to go for a different design direction, but I always missed that original design language. I wanted to bring it back with this car because even up until now, the R32R33 and especially the R34 Skyline GT-R, look so good and remain so popular. I believe this sort of styling will speak to a lot of the fanbase who grew up with the original GT-Rs."

Interior wise it doesn't look too far removed from the regular R35. I Can't say I have huge experience with them but some very expensive Recaro's fitted & a big screen in the middle is the obvious statements, but one thing I noticed is the steering wheel, I'm not sure if £369,000 justifies a wheel like that, but maybe at this point im just being picky because I can't afford one.

I think overall this car is absolutely beautiful, if I had 369,000£ to spend on a car I would probably try get an order in, but with only 39 being made I assume they've all been snapped up by lucky rich bastards already. The car is set to debut end of summer 2024 & on show at the Sema Show 2024.

Maybe Its time to return to Sema just to see this in person.
