the POSTCODE FOR THE MEET : CO28HL
STARTING AT 12PM
ALL CARS/TRUCKS/BIKES ARE WELCOME
Food to donate
Tinned goods: Tinned vegetables, tinned fruit in juice, tinned fish (in spring water), tinned meat meals, and tinned potatoes are frequently needed.
Long-life products: UHT or long-life milk, juice, and custard are useful because they don't require refrigeration.
Other essentials: Pasta, rice, pasta sauce, tea, coffee, and sugar are good staples to donate.
Healthy options: Whole grain or brown pasta and rice are a great way to help meet fiber intake needs. For tinned fruit, choose those in juice over syrup to reduce added sugar.
Condiments and spices: Small jars of jam, peanut butter, or condiments can help enhance meals.
Treats: Biscuits and small multipack snacks are also appreciated.
Dietary needs: Some food banks accept "free from" items like gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan products, but it's best to check their specific needs.
Non-food items to donate
Toiletries: Shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and soap are highly needed.
Household items: Small washing powders/liquids and carrier bags are useful.
Baby essentials: Nappies, baby wipes, and baby food can be donated.
Personal hygiene: Razors, shaving gel, and sanitary products are also needed.
What not to donate
Frozen or chilled food: Food banks can only accept items that do not need to be refrigerated.
Alcohol: Do not donate alcohol.
Out-of-date items: Food must be within its use-by date.
Opened packages: Only donate unopened, sealed items.
I do understand our friends over at Gravity are having a Cars & Coffee in the morning, but we are only 10 minutes up the road from them, so if you are attending their morning event, why not convoy across Colchester to us in the Afternoon.
Corys Cakes will once again be supplying you with delicious coffee & Cakes (can confirm its excellent)
Hope to see you all there!
