Grip lab Opens Its Doors in Northampton with a JDM-Packed Opening Day!
Northampton just got a whole lot louder, faster, and more exciting with the official opening of Grip lab, a brand-new hub for car enthusiasts — especially those who live and breathe JDM culture. The grand opening event was nothing short of a statement: packed with some of the best builds in the country, insanely rare imports, a community that believes in the man behind it all & I couldn’t be prouder!
First off, let me just say, James Hatfield who I & many others know as Tegboy has been a STAPLE of the Honda community for many, many years and more so, an excellent friend to me over the years too, so attending this meet was a must for me once I knew it was happening.
To celebrate the launch, Grip lab hosted a car meet that drew in an impressive lineup of Japanese machines. Nissan Skylines, Toyota Supras, Honda Type Rs, Mazdas, and more — a dream line up for any JDM head, especially wqhen you realise there are R34 GTRS and even more so, an NSX-R inside!
One of the show-stopping highlights? The Honda NSX-R project currently being worked on in-house at Grip lab — a rare and iconic machine that embodies the precision, balance, and raw performance of 1990s Honda engineering. Seeing such a legendary car in the workshop set the tone for what Grip lab is all about: passion, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
